Grenada Cultural & Civic Association Annual Picnic

Jul 4, 2010 - The family and I spent the day "liming" with Grenadians at Virginia Key Beach Park for July 4th this year. We had a good, relaxing time, and even got to meet cousins I had never met before! Nishana's Shoot

Jun 23, 2010 - We had our first Model Mayhem model shoot. Nishana was kind enough to come out to the studio and let us take some pictures of her. We streamed and recorded the event so that we could review it to find what worked and what didn't. I'd say the biggest problem was keeping track of the streaming! lol Definitely would have helped to have a third person responsible only for that. We were using two laptops - one with a webcam and one with videocamera attached. For some reason the laptop with videocamera kept locking up but overall I'd say it was a success. Thanks to our creative collaborator and photographer extraordinaire Ardean from At The End Of My Lens Photography in Toronto for watching and giving helpful input. Below are some pix from the shoot. Love Out Loud

Apr 4-5, 2010 - Last weekend was Easter for most. Divine Illustration Ministry of the Lauderhill Seventh-day Adventist Church put on their grandest production yet, "Love Out Loud," and we were there to witness it. The cast and crew did a phenomenal job! We managed to catch a couple of shots before the show started. Along with taking a few pictures we also live streamed the event on Sunday evening, for which we had almost 30 viewers! I'm looking forward to the next production.

Ladies' Night

Mar 6 2010 - Last night Lyrics & Melodies put on wonderful evening of female fun and empowerment! Alas, I didn't have my camera but I still wanted to tell you about the goings-on. Myself and some girlfriends decided to leave our men and children behind and venture off into not-so-well-territory called Ladies Night. It was held at Clover's, a Jamaican restaurant. Some of us worked the room and made sure to give out our business cards but mainly we sat and allowed ourselves to be entertained by the ladies and served by the men (*sigh* They served us strawberries and whipped cream to start off the night right = mmm). There was music by Miss Giel, poetry by Ashayla, a song by Destiny, cabaret by Kerri-Ann and company, presentations by Miss D (fitness buff), Jackie Vernon, (Keyes Realtor) and Cynthia Lopez (Mary Kay Rep), and a fashion show put on my My Couzin's Closet. Of course, Dah Music Linx was represented as well. I look forward to what the next event has to offer.

NSCRA

Feb 21 2010 - It is always fun spending a day at the races! That Sunday saw us streaming and taking pictures at the Palm Beach International Speedway in West Palm Beach, FL, for John Brown's National Sport Compact Association drag races, in association with Collin Williams, owner and producer for Studio 1080. Karl was responsible for streaming the races live while I wandered the grounds looking for "the perfect shot." lol Here are a couple of shots we took:
